Midshire sponsors Showdown Entertainment Event

Posted on

Following two very successful events this year, Birmingham based Showdown Entertainment hosted their third charity boxing match of 2013; the Christmas Cracker event.

Midshire have got involved in the event through Karl Evans, Account Manager at Midshire Birmingham. Karl said ‘I heard about the event through a friend, and due to a personal enjoyment ofboxing, the fact that it is a Birmingham based event and that it is supporting a great charity, I was really keen to get involved’.

The night was a great success with one championship title fight, twelve bouts involving twenty-four boxers, a charity raffle and live music.

Showdown Entertainment have previously supported Acorns Charity, however this time they were raising money for Happy Little Hugh, a three year old boy with an undiagnosed genetic condition which has caused his development to be severely delayed. The money raised from the event will go towards the cost of therapies, equipment and toys to help Hugh play, learn and develop.

Keith from Showdown Entertianment said “Karl has been excellent, and we can’t thank him or Midshire enough for all the support they have given us. We can’t believe how big the event has got, at our first show in May we only had 600 attendees, on Friday we had almost 1000, which is incredible. The Christmas Cracker event was the best yet, and we are looking forward to future events and continuing our relationship with Midshire”.
