Midshire makes the Shortlist – twice!

Midshire is delighted to be shortlisted in not one, but two categories at the Midlands Business Awards 2015.

The 9th Annual Award Ceremony will showcase the finest business talent, organisations and standout business leaders from the entire Midlands region.

The Midshire Group has been shortlisted in the categories ‘Service Provider of the Year’ and the firm’s Managing Director Phil Powell has been chosen as a candidate for ‘Business Person of the Year 2015’. The prestigious event coincides with Midshire’s 25th anniversary; so it’s hoped the year will be kick started with double celebration.

Midshire was founded in 1990 by Managing Director, Phil who has been at the helm ever since. Throughout that time the company has grown from its beginnings in Birmingham to encompass four regional offices including Stockport based office run by Director Julian Stafford. Birmingham however, remains the national service headquarters for the group, which currently maintains over 10,000 business machines across the UK.

No stranger to awards ceremonies, Midshire has already been recognised at The Made in Manchester and The Stockport Business Awards and is hoping to pick up an accolade for the Midlands office.

The Group has also recently acquired premises in Wales and Sheffield, and as part of its business development plans will see the acquisition of the second business unit at Bredbury Court Business Park, to allow for further expansion of the Stockport office.

Phil Powell commented on his nomination,

Phil-Powell

“It is a great honour to be recognised for such a well-respected award. The past couple of years have been incredibly busy for the business, and our growth has been unparalleled up to this point. The investment the company has made for the future is vast and these are very exciting times for our organisation. I am also incredibly proud of our service department and pleased they have been recognised for their hard work. They work tirelessly to keep customers happy, informed, and ensure equipment is up and running; which in turn helps keep us at the forefront of our industry.”

Customer service is something Midshire takes great pride in, using the company strapline ‘Success built on Service’ we firmly believe that this is one of the reasons why our customer retention is so high.  Over the last 2 years the group has taken measures to enhance their service offering further by employing a service analyst and developing new strategies and business procedures.

Group Service Manager, Ken Shipway said,

“To be shortlisted as Service Provider of the Year is a great achievement for the whole service department. We focus and insist on a quality job done by the Midshire Group service staff. Each engineer is trained by the manufacturer directly and is supported by a team leader, both technically and personally, ensuring customer machine uptime and satisfaction. Dealing with over 85,000 service calls a year is no easy task. It is lovely to be shortlisted along with some fantastic organisations.”

Final interviews take place in November and Midshire along with the other nominees will have to wait until the award ceremony to learn the results. The Midlands Business Awards are set to take place on Friday 20th February 2015 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
