PROFILE QUESTIONS:

Name: Richard Jauncey
Age: 55
Job Title: dogs body
Where do you live? Wotton under Edge
Time at Midshire? 3 and a half years

Who is your favourite co-worker and why?
Sheldon because of his sense of humour.

THE CHALLENGE:

Why have you decided to take on the Hadrian’s Wall walk?
The views, comradeship with fellow walkers, banter and raising funds for one of the best charities out there, conductive education. If it was not for them Sebastian, my son would not be walking today, what price can you put on that- and to give back to a charity that asks for nothing but your determination to improve your standard of life.

What walking experience do you have, if any?
None really since I did my Duke of Edinburgh award. I do walk the dogs and look after the horses.

What are you looking forward to the most about the challenge?
To work together and raise awareness in the public sector for conductive education, and to make people more aware of what is available for children and adults, with brain disorders and disability outside of the NHS. Conductive Education can be used to retrain and reprogram the human brain in cases where children have been deprived of oxygen through illness, accidents or surgery.

What are you looking forward to least about the challenge?
Rain and the wind in your eyes, it always makes my eyes water.

How physically fit would you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10?
4 but working on that one. I’m walking up to 8 miles a day now and no blisters yet, just a touch of cramp aaarrr

What is your personal fundraising target?
To raise as much as possible for such a good cause
