Midshire achieve ISO 14001 accreditation
We are proud to announce that we have been awarded accreditation for achieving the ISO 14001 Environmental management standards. We are one of the first independent resellers in the UK to achieve this standard after much hard work and effort.
What is ISO 14001? (International Organisation for Standardisation)
This ISO standard accredited to us by BSI relates to how our company reduces the environmental impact of our business activities and encompasses all aspects of our day to day operation and future planning.
Some examples of Environmental initiatives within Midshire Business Systems
Waste
Segregation of waste to improve recycling thus decreasing the amount of waste to landfill. All our offices have the facilities to segregate recyclable waste which has decreased the waste to landfill by over 50%
Energy Consumption
By redesigning work spaces we have been able to alter their use and improve the efficiency of heating and cooling systems to show a 5% reduction in our overall energy consumption.
CO2 emissions
With constant monitoring of the improvements in vehicle manufacturing we are committed to using the most CO2 and fuel efficient vehicles currently available within our fleet. Our current programme has produced 7.5% savings in both these areas and with the addition of satellite navigation in all vehicles we can reduce the number of miles between service calls and day to day business thus reducing our impact upon the environment.
Remanufacture and Recycling of equipment
Midshire Business Systems operate a policy of remanufacturing and recycling previously used equipment wherever possible. This process is carried out to the highest standard and once completed the equipment provides many more years of efficient service. Where products have reached their end of life they are disposed of in an environmentally controlled manner.
These are just some of the examples as to how Midshire Business Systems have limited our impact on the environment. All aspects of our business and future plans are subject to environmental considerations by our management team along with our consultants and as our customers you can be assured that we will continue to operate an environmentally responsible company.
